WHAT A PHENOMENAL ACHIEVEMENT BY David O’Brien, Frank Minogue, St.Joseph’s Miltown Malbay GAA Club and the enire cast and crew of this impromptu production in repsonse to the covid-19 crisis, on behalf of local charities suffering the effects of the pandemic. These pillars of their communities walked, ran, cycled and swam over 50,000kms, exceeding their target well ahead of schedule and raised a whopping €1,250.00 for eight charities in the county, including the West Clare Cancer Centre here in Kilkee. We are in awe of your innate goodness and humbly offer our gratitude to you all
Can we say a massive thank you to Sinead Kearns and Leah Scanlan for their tremendous donation of €2,419.10 to the West Clare Cancer Centre on foot of their 100K Step Challenge held in April. This undertaking was made all the more difficult by having to remain within 2km of their respective homes, but they clocked up an amazing 100K steps EACH!!! despite the restrictions in place. Where there is a will, there is a way, as demonstrated by these two trail blazers! Thank you both humbly and sincerely!
MASSIVE THANKS to Conor Troy, his mam and dad Blainagh Daly Troy, and to everybody who supported this most selfless of gestures by another of West Clare’s homegrown heroes. Conor’s head shave fundraiser realised the fantastic sum of €1,037.00 for the Cancer Centre here in Kilkee. Lockdown has not suppressed the innate generosity and community spirit that runs in the blood of West Clare natives as evidenced by the continuous flow of charitable events in support of the West Clare Cancer Centre since restrictions began. These people give and give, then they give some more. Humble and sincere thanks to you all!
